I have been pulled over for no plate 3 times (only thing I was pulled over for). In Hopkins, I was pulled over in my talon on HWY 7. He gave me a warning.

I was pulled over in the integra in Minnetonka for no front plate and given a $130 ticket.

I was pulled over in my talon again in St. Louis Park and given a warning.

The Cops in Hopkins check. James has been pulled over twice in Hopkins and I have once in Hopkins and another time in Minnetonka. So far the "in the window" excuse has not worked for us. I leave it in the front seat and say it must have fallen or throw it up when I can. Doesn't help (in my experiences). Just put the fucker back on. Especially if you ever want to drive down to Uni. They look for any excuse to pull you over. James recieved 7 tickets in two months down there last year. He was able to get out of 6.

I have an idea for all you guys getting pulled over for no plate. Put the plate back on! I have mine on there and I wont get rid of it. I do have a clear cover on it which is illegal but never have gotten pulled over for it.

I think a nice condition front plate mounted nicley like stock looks alot better than a ghetto window mod.

Im not taking it off to pay 100+ dollars. Thats good mod money.

I need to have my front plate in place in order to cover-up the big dent in the bumper, lol!

unless it is mounted in the front of the car, its illegal. This means any windshield, visor, or other mounting system is illegal.
Also, clear/smoke covers are illegal.
I have mine on the front. I had it on before the deer accident, and I scored a new bracket for free because of it (go go zip ties). Especially where the shop is, no need to get pulled over more often than I do.
Plus if you are worried about something stupid like the front plate 'slowing you down' you really need to make some power :). I agree they don't look good on the front, but rules are rules.

IN Owatonna that is a big thing that "tuners" and 'ricers' alike get pulled over for... As far as cooling, as long as it isnt zip tied to your front mount etc, it shouldt effect it.

Josh is right....the windshield mounting is still illegal, and from what I have heard you actually have a better chance of getting pulled over with it there. Cop sees a car w/o a front license plate he probably won't even notice unless he is specifically searching for a car w/o the plate.....but if he looks at a car and sees it in the front windshield it will flag his attention immediately. I have been given fix-it tickets for no front plate, but never an actual ticket.

I didn't have one for a long time after my car got hit when I first got it back from the shop. I didn't want to fuck up the nice new bumper but then I got stopped for it twice in one day so I put it back on. Its just something to give them a reason to stop you. If you are driving to work in the morning or around during the day you are usually ok, but cruising at night or after the bar is not safe. Just depends on how much of a prick the cop is. Usually if they stop you for that they are looking for more than a front license plate ticket to give.
