View Full Version : Valve Spring choice/seat pressure ??

The stock intake valve is 34mm. That's 1.338 inches in diameter. Or 1.406 inches squared of area. 23.5 PSI on a 1.406 square inch area = 33.04 lbs of force. 35 PSI on a 1.406 square insch area = 49 lbs of force.
Those calculations assume the stated pressure on one side (23.5 and 35 PSI) ,and 0 (ZERO) PSI on the other side. In most points of an engine's operation (intake, compression, power and exhaust strokes) it will be in a state with much less pressure differential than than (cylinder pressure being higher for a lot of it)

I had the Crowers with the 272s in my car, and they were just fine revving to 8500.
However, I gave that head to my husband to run with his 272s, as I did not trust them with the lift of the 4R cams. I'm just going to play it safe on the more aggressive cam and go Kiggly.

wtf, so brown did some cracker ass cracker try to tell you, hey may you are running a lot of boost and need to run my valve springs to make made OMG HP's? I think you need a good SMIM to make use of this setup, look at the PM and tell your friends. Where is the GIF of the ups truck, this thead dilevers.

I don't know if he is a cracka, but i emailed him again he is in NZ so i told him everyone here in the US thinks he is crazy, it usually takes them like 10-14 days to respond so we will see.
