After reading through some of the threads the last few weeks with talk about politics and such I got to thinking, how many members here on 'style are Veterans of a Foreign War, or are ex-military?

I am, and I always like hearing other people's stories from their time serving.

-I was in the MN National Guard for 6 years, spent three years of it on active duty.
-Basic Training @ Fort Knox, KY
-AIT @ Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD
-MOS- 52C Generator/Air Conditioning mechanic/worthless MOS that ends up fixing Humvees lol
-Deployed from September 2005-August 2007, spent 16.5 months in Iraq with 1st BCT 34th ID.
-My unit was attached to/worked with, 1st Marine Expeditionary, 1st ID, 1st Cav, and 4th ID. I was stationed in Al Taqaudum (TQ), and Baghdad (Liberty)
-Got out a Specialist E4

Who else on here is a vet or former military? please share!

1994-2000 in the MN Army NG. Never quite went over, the first one was just ending (we were 2 weeks from being activated) and the current one just starting when my time was up.

I was an 11B Mechanized Infantry (track driver for 3 years) Basic/AIT at Ft. Benning GA, I went to England and Germany for 3 weeks each. I was a Corporal when I left (didn't get to Sgt because we went overseas the last 2 years)

US Navy 1987-1989 active, three years inactive. A couple of our F14's shot down the Libyan migs in 1989. I don't know how much this footage is actually from that, but I watched it all live on our ship TV's. I remember the pilots breathing a lot harder than this video.
