I really need to get out to the mountains skiing again...

I went from going every single day for 5 years to going once in the past 3 years because the mountains ruined skiing around here.

Scheides, I boarded down from the peak, but we went a different way than we thought and ended up at the Shedhorn lift. The top was sooo windy, it was hard to walk in it even, easily over 50mph winds up there, they actually closed the gondola shortly after we rode up. We wanted to hit the north face and ski the snow fields, but it was closed because there was no way out except for cliffs. The wind blew all the snow off I guess.

The top was very windblown and crusty, but once we got down 100 feet or so it was untouched deep powder, at a huge angle down. Took just a few minutes to finish the run. Definitely the highlight of Big Sky.

At Bridger we have a friend who is ski/avalanche patrol, so on his day off he took us to the new lift they put up last summer. It services the out of bounds area only, and he had to give us avalanche beacons for us to even ride the lift. Again, right after we rode up they closed the lift because of winds, so we only got one run, but hit some cool terrain and a narrow chute, definitely pushed my limits this year.

Bridger Bowl is a blast, I was out there about 4 or 5 years ago with some friends. My buddy actually lives about 15 minutes from there outside Bozeman, these pics make me want to get back out there now!!

One thing I just noticed... I wonder if that Diamante really needs the chains on the rear tires...
