Gm released the Geo Metro XFE back in the 80's which got 51 MPG and I believe it was computer controlled carbureted.

The difference between the stock Geo Metro (30+ MPG) and the XFE was just a tuning package and different tires.

If I didn't have a parking lot worth of cars in my driveway I would be totally all over this, add a $250 Megasquirt w/wideband and tune the crap out of it, and drive to Florida and back on a Benjamin .

I will talk to my brother, he travels for work and is very jealous of the 50+ mpg my insight gets. I think he was considering an Aveo or something a while ago, this maybe of interest as a cheap, work only car.

Sorry to interupt the for sale thread but Iceminion has provided wrong information. The late 80's Geo Metro XFE was a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder and the one listed is a 1.3 liter 4 cylinder. So there was more than just a tuning package and different tires. Lastly this was the last year for the Geo Metro and only a 1.3, 4 cylinder four door LSI was released. It is nice to help out in a for sale thread but please check your information first before posting.

I still don't get what a late 80's Metro has in common with this car, other than the name...
