hey guy i need your help here. I have an eclipse 99 gs for about 2 maybe 3 month now, run perfectly until the past 3-4 days. Here the thing, when i try to change gear it won't get in unless a press the clutch 4-5 time repeatly and fast. If i don't press the clutch, it get in but you can hear the grinding and it very hard to shift. So i was wondering if its the clutch, the transmission or maybe the fluid any idea?
thx

if I remembered correctly its the slave or master cylinder. I had the same problem. I got my clutch, slave, master all fixed and worked fine. have you checked your fluid? look under the driver side by the firewall for liquid-inside the car-

ok will check for the fluid inside the car, but not sure of what is the slave or master cylinder is. Any more info on that or should i just bring the car to the dealer?

slave cylinder = little guy on the bottom front of your tranny, master cylinder = the guy on your firewall with the fluid resevoir, its attatched directly to the pedal assy, which is why you should look for fluid inside your car.

hey hey, i got some good new i think. Well i look in the car and there is no leak inside the car so i guess is not the master cylinder. And for the slave cylinder should i just bleed it myself, is it that hard??

the slave could be shot to, if its acting like the clutch isnt opening then you should prolly just replace it.

Have someone look at the slave when you're pushing the clutch in. If it's not moving much until you pump it a few times, trying bleeding, and if that doesn't help, replace the slave.
