At 2:30. That piston looks completely finished as the ring landings? (where the rings sit) are already machined. So this looks like they drilled out the piston top more to accomodate the valve completely open and the piston at the top? They would never have to worry about failing timing belts saving hundreds of dollars on making sure all timing components are original and brand new and a really expensive kevlar belt? I know the savings wouldn't be huge. But this seems like a great idea if the piston has enough metal to drill out.

Nope, if you look that is a domed piston. They are adding clearance for high lift cams on a tall domed piston.

Yup, they are over 10:1 compression ratio, so the valve reliefs will look really big.
