View Full Version : Tach won't go all the way down when revs drop

My quest has a problem. stock dsm wiring harness, the AEM gets a good rpm signal, it sounds like the right rpm displayed on the screen. On the DSM harness, there was a spare wire coming out for the tach which I used to connect to my stock wire.

It is unshielded and runs past several other wires and electronic things on its way throught the dash to the tach. Does this wire need to be shielded or have some kind of capacitor in it to filter noise? the needle on the gauge hangs up close to 2000rpm all the time unless I rev past that point.

hmm sounds to me like its your gauge yourself. does it flutter at all while sitting there?

Are the gauges stock? Like did you install any "indiglow" gauges? I've seen people fuck that up before and the same thing happen. I'm guessing you havent but just adding to the possibilities.

Did you have the car running before you changed the harness and did it work fine then?

well, before I changed the harness it was stock, and it worked pretty well.

I do have indiglow gauges. I neglected to mention that. All the other gauges work though (all the electric ones), so why should this one not?
