OK so I've removed my 91 coolant style oil cooler/filter housing setup. I'm putting in a 1990 style one, with an external oil cooler. I have a question though.

On my 1991 one, there were to electrical connections. One of them was the connection for the stock oil pressure gauge. How on the 1990 housing, I do not see a spot to put that oil pressure gauge mechanism. In the area where it would normally go, it looks like there is some kind of pressure mechanism or something, but with no electrical connection. What do people typically do?

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to further explain, but hopefully someone just knows what I'm talking about.

I know what you're talking about, but I forgot what goes where. I used to have an aftermarket oil gauge and it worked fine, now I just have the stock gauge and it doesn't work. I haven't gotten around to figuring out if I put it on the wrong pressure source or what.

OK I stumbled upon this picture. Basically, you can see where they threaded in the pressure gauge sending unit. Mine is plugged there, looks like that port was plugged from the factory. You can also see where there is some little goldish colored piece screwed in on that housing. On the used housing I picked up, they didn't have that hole plugged. I checked, and the sender does thread into there just fine. Would that port work?

That big plug I believe holds in the piston for the pressure relief.
Yes you can put yours in the bottom where that little fitting is in the pic.
