I just rebuilt my bottom end and reinstalled my turbo so I need to get my oil pressure up before I start it. What is the easiest way to keep it from starting?
If it's by draining the fuel line and disconnecting the pump what is the easiest way to kill power to fuel pump temporarily?
This is for a 1g.

The general rule is the engine should recieve oil pressure within the first 3 seconds of startup. But to build pressure without starting it take out your MPI fuse located on the positive terminal on your battery. This should also be done when putting in a new turbo to get oil to the bearings.

I do it by taking out the spark plugs and injectors and cranking the engine for a while. It shows a tiny bit on the guage in my car.

did you use any assembly lube when you put the motor back together??

The assembly lube will provide more than enough protection until the oil gets circulating. The quickest way to circulate oil is by starting the engine.

On my engine build i spun the oil pump sprocket with an electric drill before i put the Tbelt back on and put the engine back in the car.
When it was back in the car i pulled the EFI fuse and put the turbo feed hose into a cup. Spun the engine over with the starter to make sure oil filled the cup and indeed it did. Attached feed back to turbo, run car.

I was more worried about the turbo since the feed line would be empty for a pretty significant amount of time. Thanks for the help, guys.
