Just kind of a curious question here.. I was working on a 92 n/a mr2 the other day and noticed that they use the same 2.2L as the camry's use. So I was wondering if it is possible that the 2.0 turbo engine's have the same mounting points and could be swapped into a camry that has the 2.2? I know it would obviously need the ecu and wiring harness but I'm just curious since my gf own's a 95 camry with 253k on it. I keep telling her that when that blows were throwing this turbo engine in it, if it does actually bolt up. haha

Anybody have any info on this?

lol, nice.
I was thinking about putting the celica GTS motor in my corolla. But i realized that is retarded.

I'm sure the parts are there to do the swap. You'll need the wiring harness and ECU though, which makes it a little tougher.

is it the 5sfe? Keep that block, throw a 3sgte head on it and you got yourself a stroker in the mr2 world.

Depending on the motor mounts/tranny the swap could be possible. Its a very common swap on the 6th gen celicas.

I'm not sure exactly what engine she has. I'm not farmiliar with these engines at all. That's why I'm askin. What years does that block come in? Basically I just want to know if the 2.0 has the same mounting spots on the block as a 2.2.
