I've been trying to sell my third car for about 6 months now. Using the norm craigs list, carsoup, auto trader. I have had no luck. Does anyone have a fails safe way to sell a car fast? I need out of this thing, as the payments are killing me.

2005 Pontiac G6 GT
45,000 miles
asking 11,900 which is less than I owe.
Loaded except leather

Very nice car why won't it sell?

You could try eBay, a consignment car lot, the newspaper, etc. I don't pay much attention to domestic cars, but I can't imagine G6's are in hot demand.

You might have to ask less to be on par with other private party sellers. Those cars have a lot of reliability and build quailty issues, so even if you have a good one a lot of people would have already been turned away by all the bad reviews.

Hmmm ebay I never thought of that.. I have the car priced the same if not lower than most of the competition.

I'm going to check out e-bay

Also the car has been on a consignment lot in Hugo for 3 months of the 6 it's been for sale.

Don't feel bad, the entire car market really sucks right now. I'm actually getting out of this business because of it. Your price seems alright, although pricing it right will obviously sell anything. It's been a very strange market for the last five years or so, much more this year. Right now everything has dropped at the auctions, due to lack of retail demand for cars and trucks in general. Basically, people are holding on to their money waiting for something to happen with the economy, that's the best explanation I can give. I get at least two people a week wanting to trade in their car for something cheaper to get out of the payments, that's why you're having problems selling it. Try dropping it down to $11,500 and see what you get. Ebay is a waste of time for this car, way too many of them out there.

Try keep putting it up early on Saturday and Sunday morning then deleting the old posting. It seems like that has worked really well for me on anything I've sold on craigslist.

The market for used cars right now is crap as has been stated. A friend of mine bought an '03 330xi last year for like 16k, he can't even sell it now for 10. It's just the way the economy is right now. It sucks, but not much we can do but sit and wait.

Well there's always repo. I'm trying ebay cause its only $10.00. I will take all of your advice. I've noticed that auction prices for this car have been around the asking price. I'm going to give the 11,500 a shot although I dunno if I can be that upside down. I'm seasonal so no work in the winter for me which also comes with no money. I need to get this sold so I can mod my sweet Laser.

Where are you seeing that? I'm seeing about $9200 for your car at the auction. That tells me that even $11,500 is not going to fly. I'd keep it if I were you.
