Why is a machinined front cover even needed though? I can see a solution for the balance shaft hole,..... Oh. This is a dry sump setup, they got rid of the oil pump and all the balance shafts....
No, the oil pump seems to be there. It is at 4 o'clock. I would like to see the engine out of the car but fully assembled!

Albert (dv/dt) makes them for Magnus. I have a ton of respect for the guy. He's got a MechEng degree from the Univ of Chicago and his dad owns a machine shop, so he's got a ton of machining experience too.
Trivia question: What university did he start his ME degree at?

No, that's just the mount hole an empty pulley for the timing belt. It looks like most of the use of the billet front plate is for a real secure mount for the dry sump pump.

Huh, it just says it uses a modified Magnus oil pump, not dry sump. If you look in the picture of the engine installed in the car it also has the stock oil pump gear on it. Are they just using that for the timing belt?

Jet, what do you think that object is to the right of the front cover in the last pic.
I think it looks like a dry sump pump. Or maybe a vac pump?
