This is something new, that I haven't seen before... The engine becomes loaded, like you just turned on 8 head lamps, when you press the clutch pedal down... Doesn't do it when the engines cold, but the warmer the engine is, the worse it gets... I had to raise the idle or it would die when you press the clutch pedal down... I'm thinking/hopeing throw out bering, and not some motor issue, makes no audible noises either... I'm baffled

Does it try and creep foreward if it's in gear, clutch in, and no brake?

I think Shane's right. Have someone push on the clutch pedal while you look down the timing belt side at the harmonic balancer. You'll be able to see the pulley move in and out.

thats what I was afraid of... but my crank should be fine, its just the thrust bering that must be worn out then. unlike the 2g's that have bad cranks

yep.... its walking... dunno what the end play limit is, I'm guessing a good .020" or more when you press the clutch...
