I live in Denver now. Bandimere Speedway is 15 minutes from my place. They have night drags every Wednesday and I thought I'd go and see what's up. First off it's 5800ft above sea level so stuff is slower.
Dragstrip results:
Three quickest things; Hyabusa, N/A and very loud 9.90@something
Mustang, Late model mach 1, Supercharged 10.0@139
Civic, Late '90s Coupe (not hatch) Turbo 10.1@131
There was a lot of different things running. Full drag muscle cars, bikes, imports and regular street cars. The muscle cars were at quickest low 11s and mostly running 13s and 14s. The bikes were mostly GSX-Rs and 'Busas ('Busas are GSX-Rs, kinda) there was a naked bike piloted by a young lady and there was a Harley piloted by a retard. The imports were mostly Hondas, Subarus and maybe four EVOs. The Hondas were by far the fastest and everything that lined up against them lost. It seemed the muscle cars wanted no part in running the Hondas. Just about all of the many Subarus were stock and none showed well for themselves. The New STI , hatchback thing, is no faster than the old WRX. The EVOs were a mixed bag of half-assed stock turbo cars that have never been washed (Mitsu black really looks horrible after a year or two) and one decent white EVO. The white EVO was decent in that it could run into the 11s but had trouble shifting. I think that with a good clean pass it would be in the low 11s. This makes it at least two seconds quicker than any Subaru. There was also a red EVO X with black wheels, blacked trim and red LED parking lights. It looked cool but I don't think it got out of the 14s. There was a single DSM there. It was very rough, the kind of rough that you would expect a $200 dsm to be. It would trap at 98mph so I figure it's a 16g with stock everything else. A new Shelby GT500 was there and I'm thinking stock. It ran 14.1@101. Good times. The track is the best I have ever seen. You sit facing the East so you aren't looking into the sun and a short mountain is keeping you in the shade. There are lights the whole way down and it's a great track for night racing.
