Ok so heres the deal driving home from work my car started to suppder and the RPMs were droping then the car died. At first i was thinking i may have been out of gas because i knew i was low and thinking maybe my gauge was messed up. A highway helper stoped and gave me some gas and still nothing it would start and then idle for a sec then die. I got out looked over all the pipes and wires i could see (at 3am on the highway) and it seemed to be that everything was hooked up. Then after 10-15 mins i tryed it again for shits and giggles and it started i figured im gonna go for it and took of. made it about a mile where it started to hesatate and suppder then die. pushed the car to a gas station filled it all the way up just to make sure it wasnt a gas issue. Let it sit again and tryed to start it. Same thing it would start the idle would level out at about 800-1000 and then die, then i tryed to give it gas after it started but all that did was kick the rpm up and then die.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Sounds like a dead or dying fuel pump to me! What pump do you have, and how old is it?

Sounds like my car when the fuel pump wiring just started to go out. It happened on the day of the cruise to Duluth so I had to get a ride. Then randomly it started working again.

Take off the fuel pump cover and see if you can hear the pump running.

also you may want to make sure the injector plugs are tightly in, and the MAF plug is pushed in all the way.

Replace your pump. Driving that low on gas is terrible for a fuel pump, and WILL kill them... The fuel in the tank actually cools and lubricates the pump, and when it's low, it's like running an engine low on coolant, and running a car till it runs out of gas is even worse. No fuel going through the pump= no lubrication

Check on your fuel pressure regulator also? It does sound like a pump issue, but there are other things to check for.
