Anyone ever get sick of not being able to find a made in the USA version of a particular product? This afternoon I hit up NAPA, Autozone, O'Reilly's, Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart (Craftsman), and Thiesen's Farm & Home looking for a floor jack or bottle jack that was made in the USA. Every single f'ing jack was made in China. Even the new rotors I picked up for my Grand Prix today are made in China.

Anyone have a recommendation on where to find a jack that is made in the USA? Even if I have to pay 2x what the aforementioned businesses charge for a Chinese jack, I will. It's getting a bit frustrating that virtually everything on today's shelves has a Chinese origination.

Why does it matter if its made from china or usa, and why would you pay double for something made in the usa?

I'm not sure how you would get one, but how about Mac tools or something similar.

I know what you mean though. I've been looking for a fan for my apartment. Just a regualr everyday, spin the blades, move some air fan. I bought two, but one Im taking back. I'm not really satisfied with the one I'm keeping, but it's the lesser of two evils. I don't even need fancy remotes and crazy filters, I just want something that works. I would gladly pay good money for a quality product that doesn't look and feel cheap.

I think overseas maufacturing has its place, but I'm dissappointed at the lack of good quality home grown products.

Welcome to America?

Not quite sure where to find a lot of mass made shit not made in China. There was a documentary on a couple that lived for one year without buying things made in China. It was ridiculously hard to find even an alarm clock not made in China.

Perhaps Harbor Freight? But I've heard they sell alot of shit products though.

Made in the usa. LOL Like mike said, Who cares where its made? you can go right ahead and spend more for the same product. Go get a Ford (also not 100% American)

Go look in china. ;)
Not sure where to find one, nor do I think it really matters. But if you insist...good luck on your journey. lol

If you look for an American based company that only manufactures overseas at least all the other overhead costs of the company stays in the usa outside of manu and the local employees still have jobs selling them.

It's a good compromise if a Made in USA product is not available.

I tried using an American manufacturer for my Kracka Vents and they were complete junk; 9/10 were defective straight from the box so I switched back to my Chinese manufacturer and I'd guess only 1/100 are defective.

Why does it matter as long as the US company stand behind their products. Unless you say the US parent company failed at inspecting their products before it is placed on the shelf. In that case it is the US company that is at fault and not the manuafacture of the product. Now if you went to dollar store to buy your tools and it fails than it is your fault. The only people I know that refuse to buy Chinese made products are people from Tibet. I can understand their point but in this case you are not making it clear on why you only want us manufacture products.

Plain and simple: if I have a choice, in today's economy, I am going to put my money towards something that a fellow American had his/her hands on the manufacturing of.
