So my clutch has been slipping for about 2 weeks now and I knew it was going to have to happen sometime soon anyways, so I bought a new clutch and pp to put in. My rear main seal is leaking also so blageo and kevin both thought that that was actually the reason of the clutch problem.

Also, when my car would sit at idle it would make this chatter noise until I would push in the clutch then the noise would go away and it would get pretty annoying...plus my rear main seal was leaking so no matter what that tranny had to come out!

Blageo and I took the tranny out today and when everything was out after about 2 1/2 hours I found out that the clutch was actually really worn and the springs were loose, so we think that that was the issue with the chatter.

Once we were about to finish with taking the tranny out kevin (Sleepydsm) mike (mike55112) brandon (Greenhornet) and paul (HONDA) showed up and just bs'ed for a while before going out to eat..

So tomorrow the tranny goes to the shop and the clutch and rear main seal goes on the engine!! cant wait for this to get done and over with..

In case you were wondering I had the tranny rebuilt about 8 months ago and have been having problems with it grinding when going in to 1st so that is why it's going to the shop....

Also, when taking the fluid out it was like a brown color. Would that be anything to worry about or is that normal?

That depends on the fluid that went in it, what kind is it? What should really get you worried is tiny brass flakes.

Not really sure on the fluid because it was put in when it was rebuilt and no there wasn't anything brass flakes...

I have liked syncromesh, john shepard recommended it for my tranny. I have used Redline mixes, and I didn't like it.

Also, forgot to mention when I took out the tranny I found out that I had a ACT light weight fly wheel!!! I was pretty excited for the lack of money that I was gonna have to throw at it

2100 in a gsx? I would have chosen a bit more aggressive clutch disc or pressure plate.

Nice car, good luck on the install.
