View Full Version : Loud Noise
So I'll be driving, and hit a bump, and I'll hear a loud snap...
It happens a lot on 280, and other really shitty roads, but nothing seems to be wrong, no leaking, no wobbling, no residual noises or pulling in the steering. Just a really loud snapping noise...
Any ideas??
Oh yeah, it's a 2003 Eclipse GST V6. :bs:
My suggestion would be bring it in under a warranty claim.
Just another thought. Is it when you get on the gas? If so, it is probly just the snapping noise because the gas petal is hitting the floor and you are going no where (3g syndrome).

Basic Tech is for serious questions & answers. :uh:
Check all the front/rear end/suspension bolts, especially the ones that attach parts to the body/subframe assembly. Make sure the exhaust is not hitting the frame or floorboard.

Also, the springs can pivot out of there grooves causing a snap when they are compressed. (IE - Under accel.) Make sure the springs are seated correctly. There is a small notch on the bottom end of the spring where the very tip of the spring should settle against. If the spring has rotated, the tip of the spring will no longer be resting against this notch.
Kiel, YOU DUMBASS.

To be honest I really don't remember hearing the snap. My ears are too busy being assulted by the multitude of others noises. Loud ass stereo, annoying and loud exhuast pipe, or your LOUD ass mouth always flapping. :razz2:
Joooeeeeyyy powah!
Whatever Joey. Don't you have something to drink somewhere??? Spounge. :razz2:
