I bought the car about 6 months ago for the 6 bolt to swap into my 98 GSX. Payed $800 for the whole car. Which I figured was a good deal considering it came with a freshly rebuilt head that the kid had a receipt for $703.75 and also came with an ebay jdm fmic and piping. Was planning on just parting the car out cause I wasn't really looking for another project! When I picked the car up and seen how clean it was I realized it would be a shame to part it out. Since I have been reading these motors can hold some impressive power with stock internals. My plan is to rering the pistons and new main and rod bearings and of course the neccesary machine work to get this thing going again! Unless someone can point out another option for a budget rebuild? Ive heard alot of good things about John Gosh as an excellent machinist! The only number I could find on here for him is 763-213-2605 just seeing if anyone knows if this is still current? Thanks for any help..sorry for such a long post! Here is a link for pictures of the car and pictures of the motor tear down.http://photobucket.com/92tsiawd

Car looks nice. That is the same number I have to John Gosh too. He has rebuilt my head and also did the machine work and assembly on my current engine. Great to work with and doesn great work IMO.

Last I saw of John Gosh he was working at the Car Quest in Ramsey, but he might do work out of his house on the side.

That's years ago. He had a shop in Crystal for a few years and has been out of his house in Brooklyn Center for the last 9 months or so but was moving out to Big Lake, I'm sure he's there by now. I talked to him about six months ago.

I had a bad experience with John Gosh.
The 2nd head he did for me, the valve guide-valve clearance was way too huge(max Mitsu spec is .003 and the spec was .006!!!, thats 100% LARGER than it should be), and the 1 year old valve stems were falling off/garter springs gone/etc.
I was really pissed to find out I spent $500 for a basic refreshed head and got shitty quality work this time around.

Well 4 out of 5 thinks he is a good guy so I might give him a call about my head if I get around to fixing the ticking at start up
