I just finished installing a MLS 4 layer headgasket with copper spray tonight. Now I'm wondering how long I should let it break in before I boost the car? My friend used MLS on his GTP and and let it break in for 300 miles. What do you guys think?

I've never broke a head gasket in, as long as you torqued the head down properly you shouldn't have a problem.

I just replaced my Mitsu MLS with a Mitsu composite gasket. I let the car warm up nice (mainly to make sure there was no coolant leaks or anything) then proceded to beat the hell out of it almost immediatly. It's been holding up fine ever since.

Check for leaks and drive it like you stole it.

I will retorque them after a couple heat cycles about 3 times or so to be sure.

If you torque the studs right the first time a re-torque is not needed.

Remember to apply black loctite to the threads and torque to 200 lb/ft.

I did do them all in sequence (30-60-80-90) but I always like to make sure. I also threaded them into the block with my fingers in and out about 5 times each to make sure they sat in there good.
Remember to apply black loctite to the threads and torque to 200 lb/ft. Sadly some people would probably do this.. Lol
