The simple fact that the car has a salvage title automatically cuts the value in half, so you can figure the car is worth at best, $12,000. I would look at it closely, and if you don't know what to look for, have someone look at it who does or bring it to a body shop and have them inspect it and see if they can find the repairs. If it passes inspection, I say go for it. Straight up though, no cash involved.

Wow this seems more like EvoStyle around here. haha As for reliability; I'm sure there is plenty of broken Evo stories out there too. Depends on what you do with the car.

What do you really want out of a car? If the Evo fits that and you were planning to get rid of your car anyways than research the heck out of the salvage issue and request all the info and pics you can to make a good decision.

When I was looking at buying my car out of state I had the seller send pictures of key areas, also had him send audio.

Good luck on your decision. It would be hard to walk away from my car unless it was really for something I wanted and mine is not nearly as far along the mod path as yours.

Just my opinion, but I think a salvaged-Evo, assuming it was fixed properly and is issue-free, is going to be worth more than any DSM.

Not in 2-3 years. :pc:

There is no blue book on either car, each is worth what someone will pay. The EVO is a little easier, but I wouldn't buy it without driving it, preferably through a car wash. A 2003 EVO with a salvage title came through the auction the other day and it couldn't even fetch a bid of $7500. Condition is everything on a salvage car.

if it is that black evo off of craigs list all I have to say is stay the fuck away from it. it would bake a good parts car at best. the car was lanched into a ditch the full rear end is all twisted up. the uni body is twisted up also it has not been to a frame shop so you 12k evo will go way up in price for a slavaged car is 1/2 or less that blue book

After I sell my eclipse(if I ever do) I am going to be done modding cars(maybe). I just want to get an audi or something nice with maybe wheels and exhaust/intake.
I got another email from the guy here are some key things
The only reason he doesnt want it anymore is because he cant import it to cananda
Its yellow with black leather interior and a sunroof.
He said it was hit on the passanger side. He also said it needs a new AC compressor, Airbags and seatbelts. After hearing that Im going to say no. because fixing that stuff with cost me probably like $3000.

No go, but you should swing that trade idea over to other evo owners, so you have a more sellable car lol.
