In the shop right now we have an '08 Lexus ES350 that was written for $13,000. The only windows left are the door windows, and it has a glass roof/sunroof. The roof alone is $3,000.

My car got "hit" while I was at work. Only reason I know is my sister called me. Nothing that I noticed when I got home.

I should have bought a green one. The must come with natural dent resistance.

Sorry to hear about your loss man :(
This is why I sport the GLH whenever rain is even remotely in the forecast and why I always park the Evo under a tree or in a ramp when possible when I go in for even groceries or to chill at the mall. Fuck hail!

Ok here goes my rant. I took it into Roger Auto Body in Plymouth this morning to get my insurance companies choosen repair shop. The insurance adjusters were their but my car was estimated by and employee of Rogers. After having him look over the car he comes back and says good news we didn't total your cars (I kinda wanted it to be as I have it for sale and this is an easy way to get rid of the car). I am looking over the estimate which shows used hood and it doesn't sit easy with me, but the kicker is he has down the wrong color paint. The paint he had selected was a sandstone grey which is a two stage paint and mine is a pearl white which is a three stage paint. This is where it gets a little fishy he brings the quote back and said, "The 3rd stage only added about 80 dollars to your estimate" For me that doesn't seem right. Wouldn't there be more hours in painting and more cost in paint for the 3rd stage?
Comparing the 2 quotes I got the first one totals my car and the second one doesn't.
Quote 1:
$7742.53 and 97 hours of labor
Quote 2:
$4,941.34 and 76 hours of labor
I have not yet talked to my insuance claim adjuster, however I am thinking about getting a third quote. Opinions and thoughts please.

Go to Dent Kraft in Plymouth (http://www.dentkraftpdr.com/index.htm) and tell them you're from MitsuStyle. Why are they painting your car? Did the hail crack the paint or is it just cheaper for them to paint a replacement hood? I say screw the "recommended shops" and take it somewhere that will do a good job. Every time my roommate has gone to a "Progressive recommended shop" the car has come back with runs/drips in the paint, misaligned windows, misaligned doors, etc.

Thansk Kraka, I just got an appointment with them on Monday morning. He said depending on how many dents there are its sometimes cheaper to replace and paint the panels.
