my boy wants to get a 12.9 on a 91 awd tsi, his current mods are 16g turbo, whalpro 190 fuel pump, ported O2 houseing, 2.5 in upper intercooler pipe, 5 speed conversion, ported exhaust manifold, 2.5 inch exhaust, boost controller, 4 bolt swap. What else does he need to get in the 12's the car club he is in you need 12.99 or faster to quallify as elite. he's planning on buying a front mount and dsm link, any other mods that should come first he doesn't have a lot of money.

272 Intake / Exhaust Cams
650cc or bigger Fuel Injectors
Front Mount Intercooler - 2.5" piping
DSMlink
-Get car dyno tuned.
He should be able to hit 12.99 with the mods he has and those with a tune.

Be a responsible parent and keep your 16 year old out of the 12's before he wraps himself around a tree. A lightly modded DSM is plenty for an inexperienced driver.

I was thinking the same thing, but then if I had a dad that was all into getting me into the 12's at the age of 16 I would have gotten more pussy than Burt Reynolds in mustache land. I hoping it's just a race car? Or is this his daily driver, sounds more like it's his daily driver.

-Agreed. He doesn't need 12 point anything. At most he should not have to go above 15 psi on the 14b. imo.

hey... when I was 17 i was driving a mid-12 second car.... you just have to be a responsible person and know when you are actually able to use the power.... my mom hated my car and when I made it faster, but I always told her... its just for getting up to speed on the interstate and back country roads :D

He should be able to go 12's on that setup. Don't mod the car any further until he does :) Put in some race gas and crank up the boost to like 22psi, drop tire pressure to about 15psi, and then then SHIFT EARLY! 14b/16g isn't making much power after 6k, search around this forum for good shift points for that turbo/setup.
Then teach him to be responsible with the car, respectful to other people on the road, and polite and extra respectful to the police! If he is not, he will loose his license in a hurry and none of this will matter.

Just drop some race gas in her crank the boost and let her buck!

Also, teach him that street racing is a BAD THING, and don't go putting NOS or anything silly in the car. I sold my 1G to a guy that was a REAL A-HOLE and really up on his son street racing with it. It had a 20g, FMIC, 650's, good clutch, etc. great combo. The car ran for 5k miles and ended up on ebay because they blew it up with NOS and probably dumb-ass driving.
Don't be that guy.
