In the past month TIME and Chicago Tribune have also had very similar articles to this. I'm happy that a lot of this info is finally making it into the limelight.

Here is the TIME article:

...as I post this from my Cargill office.

I think it's pretty dumb to try and switch everyone to it, and I love how politicians just mandate shit instead of letting the market work naturally (CFL bulbs, ethanol, MPG ratings, etc etc). I wont get into it but I pretty much hate the government.

Politics aside though, it makes a great race gas and while its subsidized and at pumps everywhere I'll always use it.

I personally will not use it due to political and economical reasons.

I agree that producing ethanol from corn isn't the most efficent way to make it. There's much more efficient ways of making it, for example switch grass. It's native to north america, and is much more efficient to produce.

I'm definitely opposed to it by the fact the left is pushing it and other "alternative" fuels down our throats to save us from the Global Warming hoax. But the fact that my wife's relatives are corn farmers and I might someday inherit a bit of that through her family sways me a bit. That and it's race gas for about the same price as regular old 92 when you figure in the extra quantity that you need. It's one of those rare times when the left has tickled my ear a bit. :smithreplicating:

I don't like the economic stimulus package but I'm not going to throw away my check, and I don't like the way ethanol is being pushed but I'm not going to throw away a free 60whp... If they want to throw money from the sky I'll bitch about it and vote against it, but I'll be out there collecting if it happens.

I think it's near impossible to switch everyone to it, i don't mind it for a a power potensial alternative. Considering my dad is a farmer I dont mind the e85, Before 2 years a ago we actually started losing money when we planted and harvested crops, (3-5 years ago we lost 5k-15k a year with the cost of fixing machinery and what have you) and now since the corn prices are up he can actually get some income and start buying things hes wanted for some time now. I dont mind e85 at all.
