alright guys im gonna end up picking up a gsx hopefully soon, and i cant decide on setting up the car for road, or drag racing. what do you guys think. drag racing seems to be more of the norm, but I would really love to get out on a raod course and just tear shit up. I dont know a ton about road racing as of right now, so im doing some research, but what do you guys think

Road racing is very expensive and DSMs don't usually handle or brake the greatest. But you can always just deal with what you have. I have road raced my 2G before and it's probably the most fun thing you can do with a car. You can put a whole years worth of abuse that you would do to the car at the drag strip or on the street to you car in one weekend out on the road course.

They each have their ups and downs.
Drag Racing: Track time is cheap, but you don't get a ton. $35- $100, 1-3 minutes of on track time.
Auto X: Much the same as drag racing, $35+/- Approx 3-6 minutes of on track time.
Open track/Road racing once your good enough: $150-400, 2.5+ hours of on track time.
Driver skill is important for each. But AutoX and Open track require a lot more, until you have a truly powerful/fast drag car.
As a person that has done all three (did my first autoX today), I'd start with Auto X and go the the drag strip every once in a while for fun. After a few AutoX events, try an open track day to see if you like it. I suggest starting with auto X as it will teach you A LOT about how to handle your car, and most of it crosses over to open track days. I have fun at the drag strip, but after I've gotten the best time I can out of my car, I don't really care to bracket race, so for me I really only need to go once or twice a year, after modding the car. But if you enjoy trying to do the same thing over and over, you might like bracket racing.
That's my 2 cents.
