So, if you want to buy a car and you have a choice between...

3000 GT (mid 90's)
Tsi AWD (mid 90's)

Priced about the same - mid $3000. Same condition, similar mileage.

Which one would you get?

I'm new to mitsus and really have no idea.

I really should be looking at a grocery getter though. Damn it! :-)

Depends on if the 3kgt is a VR4 or not.

At this point in my life, if the 3000GT was a twin turbo I would take that.

I agree with matt d. if it's a VR4 get it, especially if it's a 94. If it's a base, got TSI all the way. They arn't fun to work on, but then again. Who here owns a 4g63 and scream yes like they've had the best sex in their life every time you have to pull your car apart to fix something?

Depends upon what you are looking for out of the vehicle. More specifications on each car would be nice.

I don't think he's talking about a vr4. A vr4 is going to be much more expensive to a dsm if you're comparing the two.

If it is a VR4 for that price it's a gamble. If it's not a VR4, TSI with out a doubt.

3000GT if its the VR4 twin-turbo, otherwise the TSi for sure.

Thanks all.

No, it's not a VR4. If it was it would be quite a bit more money.

From what I read, don't get the 3000gt - harder to work on and it's the VR4.
What is the main reasons the Tsi wins over the 3000gt? Reliability? Performance?

I haven't been inside a 3000gt or a Tsi so I'll have to see if they fit me too.
I would have to say that I like the look of the 3000gt much more. So I still have that dilemma. LOL!

Whatever car I get, it will be my grocery getter. And the 3000gt looks like it will carry my bike rack better due to the config of the back.
