So me and a couple guys have to do a final project for my pro-e class. We need to measure out and redesign something that is made up of between 12 and 30ish parts. We thought about doing our project on an rc car, but we are kinda thinking the drivetrain might be a little tricky. I know there are a ton of engineers on here and a handful of people that have probably used pro-e. I was hoping I could get some input or ideas on what we might wanna do for our final project.

Create a block with the crank, pistons, rings, and the rest of the items.

A billet transfer case would be about that many parts.

the nitro rc cars wouldnt be to bad, there drivelines are quite easy to work on actually. Pending on what one it is.

I had to build a working clock for my solidworks final. It blew ass because you needed to play with gear ratios a lot to make it actually keep time.

So pretty much what im saying is DO NOT BUILD A CLOCK!

Design and build you're own turbo. Useing the right materials, lathes, and a foundry, it could be done.

He just has to design it...

How about one of those old ass steam engines, probably enough parts and relatively simple.

How about a lawn mower or a snow blower?

Does it need to be a static model or do you have to incorporate motion (i.e.- what Joe did with his clock)? On another note, what version is Pro/ENGINEER on these days? I got hooked on Solidworks about 2 years ago and haven't seen a Pro/E screen since.
