I was just wondering what the threads are in the auxiliary ports in a 90 oil filter housing. I have an aftermarket gauge, and the sending unit uses 1/8" NPT threads. Anyone know if this will thread right in, or will I need an adapter?

You will need an adapter or a tap.

Something tells me its bigger than that....3/8" NTP?

The sticker on the sending unit, and the installation manual says it's 1/8 -27 NPT threads. Also, Anyone know where to get the necessary adapter? And what are the stock threads?

Are all filter housings the same? I plan on getting the Elec. Prosport Oil Press. Gauge so I guess I may need to worry about the same thing?

If you have one that would be cool Mark. Or we could do like you said and use the one from your Talon for reference.

I just installed mine tonight, and my prosport oil pressure sending unit screwed right into my filter housing. Not sure exactly which year housing I have though (it's forward facing). The threads on my stock sending unit were identical, and since my stock gauge never worked, I just replaced the stock sending unit with the aftermarket one.

But I have a question, what is normal oil pressure at idle and/or higher rpms for our cars at the filter housing? The gauge only goes to 100, but I think I was seeing something like 70 or 80 psi at idle when I tested it for a second.

EDIT: fyi, the motor was cold, and I don't have balance shafts.

^^ Do you have the oil filter housing with the external cooler? That's what I have. I can't say for sure, but for a cold engine with no balance shafts, 70-80 psi at idle seems pretty good. What weight oil are you using?

I think I have the external cooler, I have the 90 waterpipe and soon the t-stat housing as well with only one water line for the turbo. The 1/8" npt threads were on the bottom of the filter housing, and the larger 3/8" or whatever threads are on the back side of the housing, but that one is plugged.

Yea once my car warmed up I have like 7 or 8 psi at idle, and 40-50 psi at 2500rpm. Using 10w-30 I think right now, no balance shafts.
