Hey Fellow IT people,
Today i used about the coolest IT tool I have ever encountered and thought i would share this with you guys. Feel free to share other tools you have come across that have helped you overcome stupid mistakes, problems etc with IT.
A couple months ago i had deleted a computer in Active Directory thinking it was a old client computer from an employee no longer with the company. I was just doing a little house cleaning. Well as it turned out it was a box that we had in the server room that wasnt used very much but i needed it for a test environment. I go to log onto the box but kept getting the cannot find domain, being that i erased the box from the AD. I went to go log on as the local admin and realised that this wasnt the Normal password. The guy that was the IT admin before me couldnt figure out the password either. So i did some searching for Admin password resetting and found this REALLY cool tool. You download the cd file, burn the ISO, clean reboot the computer with the disk in and the linux shell will come up. You go through some simple steps (hitting enter a bunch of times) and BAM! reboot the computer into windows with a blank administrator password and your in. VERY COOL. Theres no virus on the file or spyware, just simple USEFUL programming. I then felt the need to share this.

Basically it just uses Linux to edit the registry in windows and set the admin password to nothing. And its FREE.
I always had trouble finding a good software for that.
