I picked up a 91 gsx auto and it wont start. I checked the spark by putting a plug in the wire and grounding it to metal on the car and nothing but when I check the power going to the coil the test light lights up on the power wire and both signal wires that I tested so why no spark? I also tryed 2 other coils, and a new transister. Any ideas?

Cam angle sensor, or your crank angle sensor, check them both...

What explains how the supply wires to the coil from wiring plug all make the test light light up when turning over? Any other ideas?

You might just have really low voltage going into the coils. Enough to light the test light, but not enough to produce spark. If you can, check it with a DVOM.

The car turns over but really slow after the person just rebuilt the motor. It is also an auto if that has anything to do with it turnung over slowly.

Is it below 9 volts when cranking?

Um Im not sure but it is hooked up to the battery charger when starting so I would think it would have enough.

it sounds like the same problem i had, are you %100 sure that the timing is set correctly?

i was still getting coil voltage, but my cas was still shit... you might want to look into the cam and crank angle sensors...

Check the power transister. Also Ohm check the coil.
