Ok so I go to pick up my 1g Intake Manifold that has been shaved and polished from the machine shop. I had them clean the inside and outside of the intake manifold and resurface where it bolts to the block. (They did not shave or polish it)

Right away I'm happy and it looks like they did an awesome job and then I notice they scratched the shaved and polished part decently bad and decently deep. So I left it there since the machine shop guys had left and are gonna have them call me about it tomorrow.

My question is, if they aren't willing to fix it, how am I gonna fix it? I know I can't take a Mother's Ball and polish to get it out, no way in hell it would buff it out.

Why wouldn't they fix it if they caused it?

You would have to sand it and rebuff it. They would have to damage it some just to put it in the vise to resurface it, unless they put aluminum jaws in, which not all shops have. Where did they scratch it at?

After I left I wished I would have taken pictures atleast on my cell phone.

Where they scratched it Jet is right on the top middle of the intake towards the back side and some on the front side where the ECI multi would normally be. I saw some minor scratches where it looked like it was vised it which I wasn't worried about.

But the scratches that I'm worried about look like they just were sliding it around on the polished part for no reason.

Use a DA on it, then rebuff it. It is just a stock manifold though, I wouldn't get too worried about it.

I know, but I planned on reselling it or using it actually until next summer.

Honestly I wouldn't feel right selling it for even the amount I just spent at the machine shop for what happened now unless it is fixed, and I don't know if I'd put it in my car now. The whole point of the intake is to have a polished look ya know.

Anyways, Hughes I'm not saying they aren't gonna do something about it. I think they should. I mean I worked with these guys for 9 months.

Thats pretty nice, I have never seen a 1G intake without an EGR port, what did it come off of?
