When you've built a million of the same engine setups, maybe you might want to try something different?

Then go bigger and better! Bigger and the same power doesn't make sense.

Displacement the number one replacement for Horse Power. The only up side is you are spreading out the power more on a big motor so it might last longer that way.

having rebuilt a supera (SC300) I would agree with putting a bigger engine in there. Who cares if its 100-200lbs heavier, the car is HUGE and HEAVY to begin with, and the 2JZ is no lightweight!

if they did it right and used an ALL ALUMINUM (did they?) v12 then the weight would be about the same.

oh, one more thing, heavy cars are more stable at speed.

but we all know that this is going to flip into the air @ 250MPH, it will be fun to watch, I hope the pilot has an ejection seat

I dont think its horrible looking, other than the color. But, I agree with Jet, if you going to have twice (approx) the displacement, why not make more power than the stock engine is capable of?

Speaking of which, I just saw a vid of a Holden TT making over 1700whp. Nuts.

It has nothing to do with "top speed". Top Secret made a Supra for that something like five years ago. It was powered but the WRC Celica's motor +TS guts and a T88H-34D. The car itself was wide-bodied and of course gold. That was a full on race car. Some time around then TS also did a pair of RB26 Supras. One of these was used for the Uber-famous UK highway blast videos that are still all over the web. This V-12 supra was built as a proof-of-concept and pseudo testbed for the proposed "MKV Supra" that is now going to be a Lexus, if it ever comes out. TS also did a wide-bodied, twin turbo V8, ATTESSA AWD G35 coupe (skyline in japan), for the same reason. Both this V-12 Supra and the V-8 G35 are full street cars and have full trim.

I'm not digging the headlights on that body. And I don't care for the empty space in the front end.
