Here is my personal project, 5.3l Chevy motor in a burnt dsm....
Kind of cool, but why? I can think of way easier ways to make 500hp and 1050 ft-lbs. Can you imagine the size of the bellhousing?!? Props for trying it!

He could at least build some headers for it, those log manifold look restrictive.

All aluminum v8 tank engine? I haven't read anything or clicked the links. I will now.

Wow! I wonder how much that thing weighs!? As far as the bell housing, it said he's using a heavily modified Powerglide with a custom adapter and flex plate. And in the vid, the bellhousing didn't look any bigger than a normal one. And yeah, there's much better ways to make those kind of power numbers, but I think this is one of those "Well, why not?" situations.

Sounds like the engine is too large to be just N/A, ill bet you this thing could make well over 2000hp with forced induction.
(the worlds fastest street car makes over 2000hp on a 9.xL v8)

It sure doesn't help the power to weight thing VS something newer, smaller, built and blown, but it's interesting. If there were performance parts for it I'm sure that engine could make a ton of power.
Any ideas about the rev band on it? 2.5k rpm?

I was kinda wondering about that too. I'd be suprised if redline is much over 4k. There's another video of a guy starting another sherman tank engine while it's on a stand, and once it idles down, it sounds like the thing is idling at like 75 rpm.
