Wow, there's some pretty cool stuff in here. It's nice to see what can happen when you start from scratch and throw away conventional wisdom. Who would have thought that you can make an engine w/o intake and exhaust manifolds.

"Piezo-type common-rail fuel injectors operating at 2000 bar (29,000 psi) are one of the keys to the new diesel meeting ultra-stringent U.S. Tier 2 bin 5 and California LEV2 emissions regulations."

Either that's a typo or forking impresive! I did a bit of googling and is seems like it may just be forking impressive.

Yea i saw that in an automotive engineering journal a few weeks ago. Very awesome stuff. Nice to see a clean slate approach from a company as bloated as GM.

Wow, that thing looks pretty sweet :) Imagine the fuel pump that would require to maintain 29,000 psi.

The fuel pump in a 10hp Briggs & Stratton

Thats how the Mazdaspeed3 works. It has a DISI setup - Direct Injection. The fuel rail is pressurized at over 20k psi.

Woot for wicked atomization!

That in one of the more compact pickups would be a hell of a vehicle.
