So first off im throwing a code... The check engine light came on right around Christmas. I didnt get around to check it out until just two days ago and it said that it was my Idle Air Control system.. Then it told me that i was at closed loop at all times even when the car was warmed up!!!
First step was I put sea foam in the gas tank. Then I was going to unplug the batt. to reset the ECU and when I opened the hood there was a mouse nest ontop of my engine!!!!!!! WTF! Im not sure if they're still in there somewhere or dead or gone...

Just thought that I would let everyone know about that little incident with the mice.. and if anybody has any idea about what i should do about the code im throwing lmk..

Clean up the nest and inspect your wiring harnesses. Those critters love to chew on wires.

I was told by MAP that its only suppose to be in closed loop when the car is cold. It just dumps fuel in there to keep it running then when it warms up it doesnt need to have that much fuel to be going into it... I get really shitty gas milage at the moment because of it...

It's in closed loop once the car is warmed up to over 51 degrees F and goes into open loop at a certain throttle position point, basically when you floor it. It runs in open loop when it's warming up because the O2 sensor doesn't read right until it gets to a certain temperature.

As said before, check your wiring harness, and any vaccuum lines. The mouse probably chewed through something.

You might be getting closed loop and open loop confused.

I checked everything out to what i could see and it all looks ok... I drive it everyday so im sure that they didn't have much time to do what they did... It was what looked to be like just the start of a small nest. Just about the size of a golf ball but maybe just a little bigger. It was ontop of my engine right in between my spark plugs!!
