Well I thought I'd put together a little recap of the changes my gsx has been through since I've owned it. It's been about 3 years now and I'm just about to the point where I'm satisfied haha.

When I bought the car. One of the very few times this car has and ever will see snow. Some things wrone with the car when I got it: poor front buper fitting, needed new lugnuts, much doghair needed removing, ran lean, super bent rim.

Gotta love the poorly fit front bumper and lack of intercooler haha
One of the first things was the dyno. It made 210awhp but was running ean so I stepped it down for the time being.

About a year or so went by and I kept it up well. Not much modding but a lot of cleaning and fixing up stuff for sure.

I miss my fog lights

Then came the new wheels. Still in the fixing up stage.

I then got my hks external wg to fix my major boost creep issue. I also got a new p/p big16g and had a blast with my first turbo swap. Took e and waldro like a week because we kept needing new bolts and stuff and when you can only work at night it makes things hard. Finally I learned if I wanted to up the boost of my 16g I'd need a fmic. Well this was a task and a half. No that smic didn't stay on too long. I soon had some custom piping done. Notice josh's legs haha. he got tired. This was done the night before I left for school.

This is like my fav pic ever haha

Well much time pasted and I finally got talked into buying my 50 trim by all you jerks. I got a mildly built evoIII head as well to stop my cars horrible smoking habit haha. This was my first trip down to winona to have my stuff installed. I was in school and didn't have time.

Back to the dyno she goes to get tuned. About $1000 later I climbed to a sad 265awhp sadly.

Since then I started having major lag issues so I took it to shane at db to retune and get it all straightened out. Turns out the guy that welded in a metal plate for me did a shitty job and exhaust was bypassing my turbo. I left there with like 215awhp or something. Since then, I've swapped manifold and wastegates which has fixed my problem with lag. Next thing is e85 and a new tune. Then comes the track I'll try and get some new engine pics soon.

Very clean car Brian, and its always fun to look at these transformation threads. After looking at all the work you put into it, doesn't that make you want to keep it?

Do you have cams yet? What are you running for fuel control?

Also, what is up with the weird bypass plate that was causing the lag issue, can you elaborate on that at all?

Car looks good! 260whp on DD is not shabby, especially on pump gas! Cams and some alky injection or E-85 and you'll be rocking 350whp daily!

I'm running evoIII cams, so nothing huge. I know I should upgrade, but I'm trying to hold off as long as I can. I'm running dsmlink v2 along with what will be 1000ccs, a 255 rewired, and a fpr.

When you run an external wg off your manifold you need to block off the upper runner/hole of your o2 housing (The hole where the flapper of the wg actuator would be). If you don't block off this hole then exhaust will bypass the turbine completely and exit through the exhaust untouched. lmk if you want me to explain that more. I can get a pic if youd like

As far as hp goes, I don't wanna make a big deal about it, but I'm pretty sure it makes more than 265whp. It's kept up with some 300plus cars from db. After riding in it or next to it nobody really believes it makes such weak power. O well, like I said I know I need a set of cams, but until I see a really cheap set I'm going to hold off. I was thinking I may end up selling my car at the end of this summer anyways.

I get what you mean, that sux. Do you have any of your dyno graphs from when it was not laggy and 265whp or whatever? Just curious to see how that 50-trim performs with the evo head....are you using an evo intake mani as well, or a dsm one?

I'm sporting the 2g intake mani ported to match the head.
