View Full Version : Pulling timing?

92 talon tsi AWD.

When I'm accelerating, the engine gets louder, the RPMs stay the same and the boost gauge says it's boosting but the car doesn't move any faster. If anything, it moves slower.

It's obviously getting spark air and fuel.. so what is the problem? The only thing left is timing right? Ideas? Suggestions?

Is this a real boost gauge or the stock one? It could be running really rich too. Does it sputter or miss or anything?

Slipping clutch? Broken axle?

Like I said, the RPMS do not go up when the engine gets louder. The RPMS would increase for a slipping clutch and broken axel.

It's the stock boost guage but the engine sound is pretty on with the boost increase according to the stock gauge. I know it's not accurate but it sure sounds like the motor is boosting.

It spudders and what not at higher rpms and occassionally while this shit is going on but it's mostly just a huge power loss with the sound of acceleration.

It does almost feel like a boost leak. It's just weird that it does it when it feels like it. Sometimes, I can let off the gas completely, go WOT and the problem goes away for that pull.

Sounds like a boost leak or bad plugs/wires.

What symptoms would one have from having their CAS 180 degrees off?

The car wouldn't run for crap, that isn't it.
