So after what happened to my car (see other thread) I'm seriously thinking about picking up one of the new front undertrays that Buschur has recently developed, and I KNOW there is a lot of interest from others to get something like this as well.

I first heard about them in this thread on evolutionm:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=296365

Tidbits that I've found:
-These things really sparked my interest because they are not a billion dollars, it looks simple, and looks like it works well.

-I'm not entirely sure what its made out of, but it was stated that it is 1/8" thick, and goes all of the way back to cover the oil filter for great protection.

-The top has a section of heat protection to keep the undertray from melting or whatever from the downpipe.

They have several different templates, here's one for a doluck-style lip:

Here's one on a stock VIII lip:

as you can see, these can be adapted and customized to fit individual needs like o2 dumps, aftermarket braces and crossmembers, etc.

-They can also include DZUS quick release fasteners, which are high-quality and work awesome.

-The undertrays can be modified with NACA-style ducts which can directly feed brake cooling ducts, VERY COOL!

Buschur is selling these for $175. They want $25 for the dzus fasteners, and $85 EACH for shipping. THIS little stinger is why I'd really like to get a group of guys together to get a bunch of these, as they can stack them all together and ship one big box. We could all meet up and have an install party or whatever.

I would encourage everyone to ditch their stock POS undertrays for something like this. I think a lot of people run some very expensive undertrays and would like to see more of these less-expensive but high-quality units prowling the streets. More importantly, I don't want this to happen to someone else, or me ever again:

The ONLY snag is that they do not have the undertray for the stock IX lip developed yet. I'm sure it won't be long, as vwjeff was going to leave his car with them to get this done.

im not sure how they are put on and how easy that would come off but what if you have to change your oil and filter?? it would have to come off and that would just be a little pain having to remove that just to do a simple thing like change the oil...

but im sure they arent that hard to take off and if thats the case i say get it cuz it looks tight!!!http://www.dsmstyle.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

That's the idea with the DZUS fasteners, they are quick release and with 5 across the front and then the two bolts at the back. Yes an extra PITA, but nothing like a ferrari :D
