I'm completey in the dark about these turbos. I'm going to read up about them when I have some time, but anyone know what's so different about them?

Custom compressor wheel on an otherwise standard 35R built by FP, makes similar top-end power to a std 35R but much more low end torque. Check the FI section here for a thread I started a while ago.

Nice vid. I like how he's really proud of how it's mostly stock, but does that trunk stay open by itself? I bet there's some lightening elsewhere that he didn't show.

There is, but nothing major. swapped rear ebrake drums for a hydrolic system, a few crossmembers have been modified/removed, etc. Nothing crazy though.

Nothing against Dave or his impressive numbers, but I never understood why it's such a badge of honor to claim "full weight" or "no weight reduction". I look at reducing weight as just another mod. Less weight = less stress on the engine and the rest of the drivetrain. If you can tolerate driving around in a tin can go for it. Same thing goes for race gas. If your wallet can tolerate $10/gal. race fuel, great! I could really care less what you're burning.

I think his point is that its his street car, he's unwilling to put a cage in it, and he's done nothing but good streetable power mods to run 9's. He also has a mostly gutted drag evo that runs 8's.

empty box in the back??? Mmmm....

I'm pretty sure its empty, he's adamant that there was no nitrous used.

I wonder what's his powerband with that setup?

It's huge. I'll copy paste from evolutionm:

There are links to a dyno sheet in the other thread Scheides is talking about. The HTA seems to be a Borgwarner style compressor wheel, from what I get out of it. It sounds like FP designed the wheel and someone makes it for them. It uses extended tips and seems like it may flow a bit more up top too. It doesn't seem to be down on power anywhere compared to the stock wheel.

Yeah, that's old school right there! I remember studying the HKS upgrade path over and over again. It was pretty much all we had back then. HKS and Archer was about it.
