Well I think I'll do both, just to be safe. Murphys law, if I only do one it will be the other. When I looked at it when my friend pushed the pedel it went out a little then drifted back in a little without moving the pedal .

cool. If you need to move it, you can limp it by pumping the clutch two or three times per shift. Goodluck!

Replaced the slave.. now it moves nice & smooth but still no luck so it might be the clutch disk.. Dang it!

no funny noises. drove to work ... had a little trouble shifting, came out to leave work and it wouldnt go into gear. It's got good grab, but the clutch seems to do very little, and yes the piston on the slave moves almost an inch or so maybe more.

try pumping it, like I suggested. Then you will know if its a hydrolic issue or a mechanical clutch/TOB problem.

That clutch was put in right when I first bought that car, 84000 on the clock. Not sure what it has now, but I *never* launched the car, ever. I took very good care to drive the car quickly but not abusively :D

Not hydrolic issue any more... gotta be mech.DOH! so the car isa @ about 110,000 now so like 26000 miles on the clutch. Do you remember what kind it was? 6 puck ??? ect ACT?

Im gonna guess it's your clutch disc. I had a similar problem this past summer and hoped for something simple too. I was getting rough shifts, sometimes it wouldnt go into gear, sometimes it would. Went into gear while not running, started car and car moves in first with clutch pedal down. I ended up with a torn up clutch disc. Found about 6 pieces if clutch :).

Southbend DXD. I wonder if the previous owner launched it. No wait, he was young, probably didn't know how to drive. The kid could hardly use email so I don't know.

I would recommend replacing it with the same; I have one in my evo too, and I LOVE it. Talk to LSE about getting one, more info here:

Aren't Southbends famous for going out early? This isn't the first thread I've seen on this.
