Halon had his done at Maaco and it turned out real nice IMO. IIRC he did or had the body work done elsewhere though, all they did was paint and from what I gather, the prep work is where Maaco sucks ass.

I know some Russian body guys too  They are pretty slow, but do decent work for pretty cheap (too much Vodka!).

Maaco's vary greatly by location. It's best to find a good one with recommendations, then you should be alright. Just not on Monday or Friday.

I work at Fairway Collision. We will do an excellent job for you. We use only top quality materials (Mostly 3m body repair products and Spies Hecker Paint) The only downside to bringing it here, is I can't really get you any discount, and it'll be a pretty costly paint job, Depending on how much body work you need/want done. Probably around $1000 or so.

a thousand alone to get a car sprayed is actually pretty cheap.. especially if its from a quality painter but some people will not touch a half finished project so I would mention that before dropping the car off

Mine was all done at the Maaco in Osseo. I chose that one because they do all of Toyota City's body work. And I figure if they do good enough work for a large dealership, then they'd be good enough for me. He gave me a walk around the shop and showed me examples of their different paint jobs. I ended up with their 2nd best one. There wasn't much body work, just some small dents and dings that they fixed. Not sure if they pounded them out or what. I paid for their prep job too. In the end after tax and the ding repair and all that, it was like 900 bux I think. Turned out pretty decent I think. I just couldn't justify spending more on the paint job, then I spend on the car itself.

We wouldn't have a problem with you doing that, but the thing with that is there could possibly be issues with materials compatibility. Another thing with you doing all your own prep work, is that no shop would offer you any kind of warranty for the paint job. So once it's out the door, if anything happens to it, it's not the shop's responsibility to repair it.

Went to the Maaco in Osseo yesterday and got a quote of $2700 for an entire repaint. What I would consider minor bodywork, no rust repair, base-clear, and wet sanding and buffing.

I stopped at a collision center in Lakeville and the guy told me 4-5 thousand. Yikes.

Should I bring it to your place in Coon Rapids for an estimate?
