Here is my situation at work. I work on team of 4 people. We all work on silimar task. The team makes up of 1 director, 2-manager and myself. I don't report to the managers but to the director.
The director and one of the manager could work at home a few days a week. However, myself and the other manager can't do it. We are expected to commute daily. In the past, we asked the director for it but each time the idea gets shot down.
Lately, the manager who works at home gets sick, child gets sick, dog gets sick..she calls in that she will be working from home. At year end, they have a boat load of PTO to used due to company policy of use it or lose it. What itch me the last few days is that my manager (director) is on vacation all this week. The manager decides not to come into the office. When I tried to get a hold of her she doesn't pick up her cell phone. Or when I do get a hold of them. They are clearly not working but out somewhere. They are clearly abusing the system. Should I do something about it or let it go?

I deal with piece of shit people like this every day. I get through it by thinking about the checks.

Maybe if your pay is O.K. that will help.

The pay is good. That is the only thing that keeps me going.

Figure out how to 'work from home' yourself ;)

Basically you just have to worry about yourself and try to let go what other people are doing. If you believe in Karma, that makes life even better. They will eventually get what is coming to them. I am sure other people are noticing that they aren't ever there. It will catch up with them down the road.

I'd start looking for work elsewhere but keep your feet underneath you where you are currently. There is nothing worse than spending 8+ hours a day of your life at a place you don't want to be, no matter how good the money is. No one should ever be unhappy about something like what you're going through.

I love my job, I could care less if I have to work long hours or on weekends. The people and work environment here are amazing and I like working here.
