Why is your girlfriend's insurance handling this anyway? You were driving, you are the driver at fault.

Good thing there wasn't a cop there. I got a ticket last year for a similar situation. Traffic stops, brakes not up to the task, hit a civic, totaled it (with shop truck).
What the officer told me, don't overdrive the vehicle, here is your ticket.

I would suggest to leave more braking time when driving her vehicle and let the (your) insurance company sort it out.

Yeah that was fucking awesome...not. Clean record since 2004, and my lane that I was merging into got filled by jackasses that didn't even slow!:stooges:

The insurance is for the car, not the driver. That is why the insurance company needs to now what other drivers are in the house. You can also get owned if someone else drives your car and gets in an accident.

Yea otherwise the cops wouldnt ask for proof of insurance on a vehicle.

Then you probably shouldn't have rear-ended someone... :stooges:
He was probably busy getting road head or someshit, you know how those California girls are.

no actually i saw that the fast lane was starting to slow, then i slowed with it then it abruptly came to a stop. I had plenty of room but the brakes locked up and i slid into them.

You should have drifted around them!
