Are these in use by anyone locally or elsewhere around the country? How long have they been making these things, and why should I buy this over a standard OEM belt?

Alex has one on his DSM and has had no issues. The key features are the increased durability and the reduced stretch characteristics. On higher HP applications an OE style belt can stretch and have a minor affect on timing and therefore performance. However, the main reason for purchasing this is the added insurance. In theory you wouldn't have to replaced it as often, and the chances of skipping a tooth would be diminished.
