Cell phone for Europe

I am heading over to Germany in a few weeks and it has been recommended that I have a cell phone while over there. Right now I have a KRAZR from US Cellular and I know it won't work overseas. In order to go to Europe, do I find a used GSM phone and buy a pre-paid GSM card?

Yup, that's the best way to go. How long will you be there?

I used Orange when I lived in the UK, but I think Vodaphone prepaid would be the way to go in Germany.

Vodafone prepay is probably what will work best. You just need an unlocked gsm phone Tri or Quad band.

Our German sales reps all use Vodaphone and nothing else over there.

Can I go on eBay and buy any unlocked GSM phone without worry?

Yea any unlocked GSM phone will work. I just brought my old phone with me when I went.
