I have for sale a 2g starter, came off a 95 talon TSI awd... I'm selling it because it will not work for my 98 Eclipse GST. It may work for a 98-99 AWD but I don't know. Talk to Nick from Brookdale Mitsubishi for more information. According to the research i've done 95-97 starters are different from 98-99. I bought it off of Jhaan_Dude thinking it would work for mine. Starter is basically brand new. Let me know if your interested. Please PM me. 75$ is what I paid for it, thats what i'm looking for.

I used my 98 GST starter on my car with 95AWD parts.
If I remember correctly the only difference in starters(between turbo cars) is automatic and manual.

I didn't know that... thank you for that information. Now I gotta figure out why that starter isn't working in my car. Thanks blageo23.

Make sure its not from an automatic. I Think on the auto one it is longer(the spot where the small gear is that turns the flywheel). Its very hard to tell the difference between the 2 unless they are side by side.

Ok my 2g starter is still for sale. 95-97 5 spd starters are different from 98-99 5 spd starters. One is a little bit longer. So I have for sale a 95-97 5 speed turbo starter that came out of a 95 AWD Talon. 75$ is my asking price, thats what I paid for it from Jhaan_Dude. thanks, part is basically brand new.

I actually just took apart the solenoid in the starter.. sprayed a bunch of brake cleaner on it and cleaned it all up. I installed it that night and it started up beautifully. The starter I guess was still good, cuz when I brought it in to O'reillys it passed with flying colors.
