After thinking about it more I think the pulleys and levers owned me.

yeah, electrical kinda ownd me and one with pulleys, i got 82%, so thats 9 wrong..

butwhatahay i still passed and have room for improvement

Meh, 90%, thought I'd do better.

Crap, 82%. I think that question 48 about how air is pushed into a cylinder on a naturally aspirated motor is wrong.

I got 92% and I totally agree with you. There's no such thing as "suction", it's higher pressure moving to a lower pressure zone, so the answer really is the atmospheric pressure pushing the air in, because the piston creates a low pressure zone.

I answered suction though because I figured the test was like forest gump -"stupid is as stupid does".

and I was confused about the pulleys a bit too.

well ive never taken a test like this, so i didnt do well on the electrical stuff. but i have a question about the gears.

there are a couple questions that say if gear A is spinning at 100 rpm, how fast is gear b spinning...

how would you calculate that without knowing the diameter of either one?? without knowing the numbers, you dont know if the drawing is to scale. so almost any answer could be correct.

how else could you figure it out? count the number of teeth on the gears?

i call OUTRAGE on this test haha..... 72% FAIL :( :( :(

They pretty much look like double the diameter.

Oh and after I posted, I figured out how to review the test. I got four wrong I think, and they were just dumb.

Count the teeth on the gears, the small ones were 10 teeth and the big ones were 20 teeth, so the ratios were 2:1 or 1:2. Also how do you review your test?

I failed too with 78%. :( The gear thing is easy, you just count the teeth. There were twice the number of teeth on the big gear versus the small gears.

I sucked on the electricity ones and pulling weights with pulleys. Argh. I guess I better stick with computer programming. And to my own defense I've never taken an engineering class of any kind.

You can review after you finish with the little magnifying glass icon in the bar above where the score sheet is. (on the right).

And it's funny that I did as well as I did because I drew on some things I learned in my highschool physics class (from about 8 years ago), electrical circuit stuff my dad showed me when making crossovers for my speakers(I didn't really learn about that stuff as an ME student for two years, lol) and then just general knowledge I've gained from dinking with cars and cruising forums.

The gear thing was easy for me, but I did just guess that they made them 1/2 the size as the big one, just for reducing the time needed for the test. I have no patience to count gear teeth. heh.
