This is actually a good thing...I should really quit now...old habits are hard to break. Wonder if I can quit cold turkey?

So thrilled. Now my asthmatic ass can actually go out to restaurants and music venues. Having a proper social life will be thrilling.

These threads (here and mnscc) are the first I've heard of this. So, I want to know, does this include my college campus or is this just for indoors stuff?

You bet it does. I think the only places you can smoke is on your property or in your car and that's it. I wonder how all the art/music people are gonna react to this. All my art/music friends are pissed so far. It;s like that too in Laramie here @ Wyotech. But there is a distance ordinance with buildings though, which is good.

Well, you can smoke on campus, just not in a building on campus.

When I first started working at my current employer they allowed smoking in our shop which is about 3000 sq feet or more. The whole shop would be filled with smoke and generally there was about 8 people smoking at a time. Nothing got done hardly and people (even non-smokers) would sit around and bullshit. About a year after I started they banned smoking in the shop; I never seen so many people crying. There were 55 year old men running around like chickens with their heads cut off. It was funny. On another not I never knew so much work could get done.

Is the casino non-smoking now?

Ha ha, hell no. They do not have to comply with the state. I just can't wait for winter to see all the people outside of buisnesses freezing their asses off trying to get a few puffs.

No!!

The law does not apply to Casinos as they are not technically in Minnesota. The tribes make their own rules as to where you can smoke.

I have even heard that some Casinos are going so far as to build a seperate building for non-smokers!

Well we already have seperate rooms for non-smokers; they are a lot cleaner and the fan air exchange system here is pretty good. Its funny when the techs go through and clean bill acceptors and other parts; the rooms that do not have smoking are 10 times cleaner. Smoking is just nasty.

The only thing though is that even in the non smoking rooms the bed spreads are still fucked up with cigarett burns!!
