I am building a 2.4L, and when it came to the intake and throtle body I had to stop and scratch my head. The intake manifold is going to be made, but I was wondering what should I have it flanged to? I have heard and seen the size of the q45 and it is about 90mm. I was wondering if any one has used this and what it took to make it work, or any other ideas for a throtle body?

Q45 is all the rage. What is the rest of your setup? A stock 1g would probably be fine.

Actually, give us your mods list so we can recommend the proper throttle body.

You can get a huge TB, just tune for it.

the rest of my setup consists of; egal h beams, wiseco 9.1:1, 860 fic injectors, 255 walbro, 1mm oversized valves under cut andswirl polised, crower springs and retainers, in a cnc ported 2g head, sbr tubular exhaust mani, the link, true gt3582r, maftranslater with 3in gm maf, oh and comps 272s wich accutually are a 262@50, and all of this is in a 7 bolt 2.4L

I would stick with the stock TB, no need to mess with a bigger one at that point. Stock TB has run 9's.

do you know what the q45 will flow over stock 2 1/8. for 70 bucks I thought it would be worth not bottle necking it there? does it cause any problems going with a larger than needed tb? and what is the tps like on the q45? do i just need to wire in that pig tail, or are the resistance levels different and have to retro fit the stock tps on to it? any little hints will help.

The larger TB will make it harder to tune. Bottle necks in piping are odd if you don't know fluid dynamics. They add up over a length, so a short bottle neck like the TB really doesn't mean a ton, especially at lower flow levels. That being said it will still be a restriction. Are you going with 3" IC pipes and a free flowing FMIC? If you are going 2.5" pipes, don't bother with the TB, use a 1g one.

yes, sorry it will be 3" charge piping. with an intercooler said to have a very high flow rate, cant remembere numbers but that is why I chose the one i did. My hole thinking was to reduce the amount of restrictions as much as possible. let that air pump work! right?

Get the 3" in there for when you wanna make 700+whp and ditch that 35r. Do it once, do it right, right?
